Hello Gents,
Without checking decals against bottles of paint, would anyone have an idea on what gold matches the JNJ decals the best? This is for Rusty's Miller Pontiac.
Thanks |

Just to be sure, Shayne, are you doing the 1990 #27 car with the deeper gold color, or the #2 car from the years after that with the more yellow color?
If you're talking about the #27 car, I used AMT's kit decals, not JNJ, but this is Tamiya TS-21 gold.

I always preferred that scheme better than the black and yellow. Great looking model by the way. I wish Powerslide would do a set of decals for this car to fit the Monogram Pontiac.

Thanks again Dan. If you have a couple of pics that would be great, I have the Daytona pit lane picture but the contingencies are hidden, and a pic of the rear and right hand side would be wonderful.
Again thank you. |

And if you're building the Daytona 500 car, the AMT kit decals I used had the contingencies set up (roughly) as they looked for that race, so here's how those looked on my build looked if that helps at all:

I know, right??? Honestly I'm surprised that we haven't seen that yet, it seems like a fairly popular car. |

You guys ever notice the different looking rocker panels/lower door options?
One has a little carved out canoe and the other has the rocker panel set back from the front wheel to the rear wheel. I have also seen just plain sheet metal with out either???? |

What was this version with numbers 27 in white, just for the Winston Cup?
And why this version with lighter gold;lower panels and 27 numbers?
I built mine a few years ago with the AMT kit and car painting but I no longer have the color reference of this gold shade I used.
I put these info in my school notebook... |
