While never reaching anything close to the fame of
his older brother. Eldon was a fine driver but never
really got the opportunity to run NASCAR Grand Nationals.
Modifies were so cool back then. Built in back yard garages
(like my neighbor did). You could pickup a body from out in
a field for around $35 !!! The average price of a plastic model
these days....
probably 20 years old in this picture, sixty years ago !!!
looks like the 29 was Pontiac powered in this photo, but
more often the 29's ran Ford engines.
more of a variation of the 29 based on different photos.
the 29 had lots of different drivers also.
didn't have a Pontiac engine so used the Ford engine from
an MPC modified kit, as well as the body and rear tires.
most everything else is scrarch built
Don't recall this particular 29 or Eldon driving modifies. More like 10 years
later when Eldon was a late model sportsman driver.
