NEAT! You captured the original quite well. Did you make the headers yourself? If so may I ask what you used? |

1/16' aluminum tubing. Easy to bend & cut. Drill holes in the engine & superglue the headers in place. I like them unpainted so I tape them off before painting the engine. a 10 minute job on this one.
Hobby Lobby stocks this & Evergreen plastic. I use a lot of K & S and Evergreen.
Hard to tell from the pictures but I wired the engine with a wire set from Gofer Racing
What you can't see after the body is in place, .062 Evergreen rod for the roll bars. Firewalls, floorboard & dash board are Evergreen sheet plastic. Gear shift is Evergreen rod.
Also easy to bend & shape.

Thanks! I would not have thought of the aluminum tube being bendable enough. I've got some K&S annealed brass tube that is intended for RC fuel tank pickups that is very bendable but I think too big for headers. I'll get some of the aluminum and give it a try. |

During this era most of the race teams "created" their own headers. No two were ever alike. Even from one side to the other on the same car.
Tubing also works well on the side bump bars, and can be painted.
But bend it slow and easy, or it will snap !!
