Just wrapped up my 1969 Daytona 500 winning Ford Talladega as driven by Leeroy Yarbrough. Polar Lights kit, Testors White Lacquer, Fred Cady decals, Pledge Floor Gloss, PPP wheels and tires.

Excellent build. Too many people really trash this kit, but as you prove here, it can build into a nice representation. |

It is a beautiful build, JJ, and the photos are splendid. I have the same kit in the stash and have noted the comments elsewhere about 'needing' to drop the nose down. Did you do that, or is it a straight kit build? (I hope it is the latter!) |

I cut the inner part of the fender as others have noted and pulled the nose down some. |

From an era where paint & numbers were a real classic look. Junior Johnson said LeeRoy was the most talented driver he had ever seen.
He was also our hometown hero from Jacksonville.
I did LeeRoy's last ride for Junior (1971).

Any tips on getting the rear bumper to sit correctly? I get it on there but I'm never really happy with the way it looks on the 69 Torino. |

On the rear bumper, remove the thin strip of plastic from below the tail light panel, then maybe a little filing in the corners of the bumpers. |
