Hi I have a question i am building Fred Lorenzen's 63 ford would the air cleaner be round or the cowl induction type?

Early in the 63 year the air cleaner was what I like to call the coffee can style later in the year they switched to the cowl induction. I saw a film of the 63 Daytona race. Freddie's car is in the pits, hood up and he has the round filter. not sure when they switched. |

That car is fairly accurate for a '64 Galaxie because that's what it was before it was backdated for the Weatherly museum. It was finished at Banjo's from what was probably a partially converted '64 Galaxie in a rush between Riverside and Daytona in '64. It was driven by Foyt and by Junior Johnson. |
