Hey all, does anybody know where you can still buy some Model Master Grabber Orange spray paint? I'm doing an Evans build and all the model supply sites are sold out or not available? I'm thinking it was discontinued?
Thanks for any help and guidance. |

I'd look at Tamiya orange TS spray. |

That is a extremely close match almost perfect. You can get the color from most automotive paint shops most will do a aerosol can for you it will be more money but there is a lot of paint in that type of can I do know almost all Evans cars had a light gray primer. Hope the will help you.. Hope you post pics along the way as well...

Just wondering if Grabber Orange is close to the School Bus Yellow that Bud Moore used on several of his cars, including the Trans Am Mustangs ? |

This is incorrect about the primer. One crew member of Evans said that when they switched to Grabber Orange they used red oxide primer.
found this quote online about the paint...
"GM Omaha Orange matches his early coupes... When Richie built his last coupes and first Pintos, he switched to Ford Grabber Orange... Richie used red oxide primer which would tint the oranges a little darker"... _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

I concur on the red primer. I have personally seen his cars with partially repaired crash damage sprayed with red primer. Evans Orange is a tough color to match, pictures can be misleading. I have tried most everything in a spray can, but I will be mixing up my own in the future. |

if you compare the color tone on the wheels versus the body you can see a difference on the build that i did. the body was painted with Tamiya red oxide primer and then Model Master Grabber Orange lacquer over it, whereas the wheels were just the orange over white plastic.
there is a difference.
sure wish i had some of that Grabber Orange left over, i have some nice 2-piece wide fives that i would replace those one piece wheels with... _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...
