I did quite a bit of body modifications based on an article written by Drew Hierwarter. I shortened the front end and hood, reshaped the window openings, and moved the fuel filler. I filed the headlights to simulate the scallops on the side. I modified the exhaust. I also used the Tuf-Lon rear fender decals from the Monte Carlo kit since they looked like they were sized properly.

Great Job !!! Did the kit decals work out OK ??? This past summer, a weekly racer at Evergreen Speedway Monroe,WA., had a kinda - sorta 1981 LeMans, complete with the Tuf - Lon paint scheme and tiny WINSTON CUP Series decals on each door. The car was fast too !!! |

Yes, the kit decals were fine (other than the Tuf-Lon on the kit sheet being too large in my opinion).
Are you talking about Doug Poirier in the 57? Evergreen is my home track.
