I am building the 1958 Southern 500 winner and I cannot find good pictures of the interior of Roberts 57 Belair.
Any help would be appreciated |

I recently built that car and I had the same trouble. Based on the few pics I was able to find I painted the whole interior black. The 2 close up shots I found on Google looked like everything on the interior was black. |

I had some real interior shots, but they got locked up on photoblankit. But you are right, its mostly just black everything in the interior. The seat is a bench seat with the passenger seat back removed and the seat is two toned black and gray. The middle portions of the seat are black, and the rest of the seat is gray. the door and quarter trim panels are also two tone black and gray. At least that's the way I built mine, so I'm thinking I must have found a ref picture that showed that. I built it many moons ago.

A few years ago I was doing decals for that car and I wanted to build it for my own collection and decided to also sell the decals I had made in the research I did closeup shots of the car where hard to find I only found 2 or 3 color pics and nothing on those showed the the interior color clearly I did mine in black. I always have thought it could have been Dark Blue to match the color of the racing strip on the car. I think either would be OK. The only way I would think you could get more info would be to contact Rex White or maybe Ned Jarret and see if they may know or put in touch with someone who would know. Just be polite and don't expect a return as these two guys are up there in age and still pretty busy. They may just not know.... |

Thanks, I figured since this is a looking for info thread instead of a wip thread it would be okay to post some pictures. Like I said I'm pretty sure these colors are right, but I might have just given up and made an educated guess. |

It was a 2-door hardtop not a sedan and was a carb car. 220 horse power. The injectors were banned back in 1957. |

Thanks Mark. I should have noticed that it was a hard top. |

That is a beautiful build of the Fireball car.
If you don't mind my asking - what kit/kits did you use? |

Jb, it's the amt 57 Chevy kit with the light blue and white 57 Chevy on the box. I think it's available at Hobby Lobby right now. |
