How does this work with the builders club? Are the Hendrick kits going to be part of that or is this a separate line of kits that won't be included in builders club?

I would imagine it will be the kit of the month. I left the club in May but even back then they were really hyping it in the weekly meetings.

I was really hoping that Salvinos would do the 20/21 Camaros first before the next Gen Camaros but it’s good to see any new Nsacar stuff available👍

The above image is a render.

You will NOT be overloaded with Next Gen cars as KOTM. There is talk you will have choices. (to be clarified ASAP)

Yes, but can they do a Toyota? Or is Toyota blocking it for some crazy reason?

Chevrolet was first because Salvino's had GM licensing already.
I expect Toyota and Ford to follow once they see the Chevys.

Ya know, I really do want them to do well, and I really want to be apart of what they are doing, but they are all over the place about releases.
Why would I want the roll out livery, when the Hendrick cars are available?
Why would I want the 2021 car if this one is out?
I dont know, they seem to get the newly tooled stuff all wrong, the GP 2+2, and Lemans come to mind, and for me, the MC and Cutlass, well, ill just say I haven't bought either one.
I just wish they weren't all over the place when it comes to info and releases.
I get it, strike while the iron is hot and all,but...well...I've bashed em enough. Sorry for the rant.
I do commend the kits on the shelf for race day, thats NEVER happened before.

It's coming if you pre-ordered.

They hope to have the contracts do the Fords and Toyota's later this year.

Jim from Salvino's posted a reply to the announcement video I did on my Youtube channel, and in his reply he said the following.

We are stepping up our instructions to Tamiya level

2 of the parts trees will be shot in black, 2 in light gray metallic, 2 in white, and the hood & body in white

We will have kits with water slide decals, and also “track side” kits to be sold on the race trailers and track shops that will have color bodies and new vinyl wraps

No contracts yet, but expect the Mustang and Camry this year too

Don’t hold your breath on the Gen 6, but don’t count them out either.

As someone who builds from all the different NASCAR eras I wouldn't mind if these slipped into the builders club rotation. Classic car one month, modern car the next.

As for the Gen 6 tooling.....

It's hung up in the Revell receivership proceedings and not currently available to buy. Unless it comes available DIRT CHEAP if/when available, Salvino's will not buy it.

I believe this may come once all 3 manufacturers are on board (but don't quote me.)

I'll believe the Toyota kits when I see them.

I hope they tread carefully on that, what is the probable cost of a kit like that over the "regular" version molded in white with waterslide decals. S60? Maybe more if the race teams mark them up? They may find the market won't be all in like us model builders, how many of the yuppies that Nascar caters to today will actually buy and build a model kit?

Just sayin.

The trackside kits will sell. I buy several diecast cars per year, and the cheapest ones are $65 for cars that aren’t as nice as the first Revell Gen 6 snap kits. By eliminating the need to buy any supplies but the kit and a $2 tube of glue, they’ll be right in the game. Especially if new diecast are slow to come out or supply issues keep them off the trailers.

The bigger issue is what percentage of their business will come from the trailers vs traditional outlets (ie, casual fans vs. hardcore builders). I think they’ve probably done their homework on these to find the right balance. It would be a pretty sizeable investment to get wrong.

I look at Salvinos like this: the first kit I built wasn’t great and the first one Jim did wasn’t either. But I got better and so has what they’ve put out. I hope each next kit for both of us keeps getting better than the last. I know we haven’t seen the new cars on track much yet, but the prototype body Jim showed last week looked pretty dang good.

At this point, it may be more cost effective to design a Gen6 car from scratch (or copy and alter the Revell kit) than wait for the bankuptcy process to complete and then try and get the molds from China.
