I think all this was lost in the board crash a while back, so reposting the W.I.P. images. I don't have written notes on the build but will answer any questions.
Basically: SMH resin body, heavily modified to correct accuracy of a '76 Montego, soda can aluminum for damaged metal (hood is the resin piece broken apart and rejoined), AMT Tbird chassis/cage/rims, PPP tires, Powerslide decals with blu pinstripes flipped/reversed at the back to fit the contour better, door numbers from a Yesterday's sheet (P-slides were a bit large for this body.)

Thank you again for posting this and sharing your technique for creating this very special car.
I've always seen your build as a landmark for scale modeling.
Simply beautiful and creative! _________________ "When you arrive at a fork in the road, take it" - Yogi Berra |

Thanks. There are several builds of the undamaged car that are way cleaner than this. I am not the tidiest builder, and there are some things I would do differently now, but I am proud of the work on the damaged parts. I studied as much reference imagery as I could find to get every crease in the right place. If there is one tip I can pass along, it is that bent sheet metal is best for recreating bent sheet metal. Aluminum cans are good, and I've seen some nice work done with wine bottle foil, just experiment with all the free discarded stuff. _________________ Bill Jobson is my real name. |

Thanks, Bob. If any museum or collector were interested I'd certainly part with it. Would get more exposure and appreciation than from my basement shelf! _________________ Bill Jobson is my real name. |
