Imagine finding a gem like this one in a barn
This is my first (and only) try at weathering techniques. I went for a weathered rusted look but salvageable kind of car.
The car: Revell kit OOB with minor changes like removing passenger back seat, side exit exhaust and bigger tires from spares.
Vallejo acrylics, black and off white brush painted.
Future seal coat, decals and rattle can Testors Dullcoate
Vallejo Tierra Europa washes
Vallejo Rust (73.821) mixed with browns and reds for rust effect
Special attention to underbody with more rust weathering and pigments dry brushed.
Pick up is a 53 Ford with flathead V8. Dullcoate finish to reflect a well used but well maintained truck.
Tools are from various sources: silver coated, red or green coats, edge sanding and washes.
Thank you for watching, Comments and advice are encouraged.

Wow, Pierre. That is through the roof authentic looking. And the truck looks like you took a real truck and shrunk it down to 1/25 scale. Truly awesome work as always. |

super nice! I never turn my cars with bumpers upside down... there is usually a very visible blob of CA holding the bumpers on. Usually ready to move on at that time.
If those were brush painted again, superb work. |

Yep it is brush painted with the exception of dullcoate layer. The weathering steps were also done with brushes.
It was a fun, very different kind of project to do

Very neat! Or I guess since it's so dirty, neat is not the best word to describe it. |

Thank you guys. Your input is much appreciated. I am considering doing another weathered car but I would like to make it to the next level...like rust perforations. I have a 71 Petty Road Runner in mind. _________________ "When you arrive at a fork in the road, take it" - Yogi Berra |
