I used the Revell 3in1 kit for this car. It built OK but this is my first Daytona so I don't know how it compares in accuracy to Johan or MPC bodies used by fellow modelers.
The kit has a racer version or so they say. I say the headers and exhaust dumps are nice but that's it for racing parts
Added parts: PPP wheels and tires, donor cage from the Monogram scrap yard, front and rear shocks from Salvinos and fuel cell tub from AMT T-bird.
Engine mods: dry sump pan (evergreen and putty job), breathers (Salvinos) and MPC bathtub intake (I got lazy there)
Brush painted Vallejo primer and Model Color base (blue/black/silver mix)
Metalized parts are mix of Tamiya metallic and flat grays
Vallejo washes om mechanicals
Excellent Powerslide decals
Future clear, brushed.
Thank you for watching

Excellent job again, Pierre. You nailed the color with your mix and again the brush painting turned out amazing. Thats whats nice about the brush painting, you can mix and try the paint in a pallette just like an artist using canvas. You dont have to mix in a bottle and hope its right before you pour it in an airbrush and then try it. Its one drop at a time so you can narrow it down till its right. Again, Awesome job.

Absolutely. I must have tested 10 combinations before settling on this one.
The color of Tiny's Daytona is intriguing because it varies a lot on the few available pictures found online.
I don't know if I ended with the proper color but it was the color that pleased me.
The ease of mixing my own color allows that flexibility

So true, I'm looking forward to my next build, so I can do a body, instead of just an engine or frame or interrior tub. I have already been brush painting those. I just did not know I could do bodies as well. At least I hope I can.
