This is a project I built a long time ago. The reason I'm posting it now is I finally built an appropriate car to go with it.
The truck is, of course, the AMT Ford C-cab that's been around through several different re-issues. However, everything from the cab back is scratch built from Evergreen styrene sheets and shapes, with the exception of the decking and ramps. That stuff came from an old enclosed trailer kit.
The Wood Brothers logo on the side is something I got on the internet. It's not a decal. I printed it on glossy photo paper. If you look closely you can notice the thickness, but at normal viewing distance it's fine. All of the paint is Testors Model Master.
The car:
The car is the Model King re-issue of the old MPC kit. Now, don't flame me for this, but since the truck is really the star here and the car is just a prop, I didn't spend a lot of time on it. I only used enough of the kit's terrible chassis and roll cage to hold up the body and give the impression that there is something in there. I made no attempt to create an accurate chassis. I just wanted this thing to look good sitting on the back of the truck.
Paint is Tamiya X-2 white and Model Master Stop Light Red Metallic. Decals are by Yesteryear.
As always, comments and critique are not only welcome but encouraged. _________________ Still crazy after all these years. |

The hauler and the Mercury look great. Some years back Terry Barton made a hauler conversion in resin. I scored his last one and gave it to my friend Lanny. He added a sleeper and the Dan Gurney 68 Torino.

I still have my Terry Barton Resin hauler chassis. He produced them in 2004.
I've had it safely stored ever since. Comes with resin tires for the rack and all. A beautiful piece |

Absolutely awesome looking set. I really like the hauler. You did some nice scratch building to create a unique model. |
