Lately I've been pulling some models off the shelf at random and cleaning them up. ( I don't have any dust protection.) I realized I hadn't ever photographed this one so here it is.

Kenny Irwin drove this car in four races in 1997 for car owner David Blair. Richmond, Martinsville, Phoenix, and Atlanta. Irwin then moved over to the 28 Texaco Havoline car for '98 through 2000 when we tragically lost him.

I love colorful race cars and this one certainly is that. It's a Monogram T-bird, obviously, but I really can't remember who made the decals. They could be from Slixx but I'm not sure.

Anyway, as usual, comments and critique are welcome.

Nice! I enjoy seeing builds that are a little more rare.

Drew, another spectacular build, and it has held up well even without dust protection. Looks good as the day you built it.

That's a great looking car. Racescale made those decals.

Very good looking car! The Thunderbird made such a fantastic race car design.

I have the G.I. Joe set and looking forward to building it some day!

IIRC....didn't Kenny lead some early laps at one of the Richmond races in this car?

In 1997 he led a total of 12 laps at Richmond.

I vaguely remember seeing this car race, the colors are really eye catching. Nice work!
