That was a fast race car. Never heard if Runt had figured something out and had an advantage or if the stars were just aligned.... for two years in a row!

Part of the success was the 180 degree headers. Higher rpm flat torque curve and an AWESOME exhaust sound especially down the L O N G back straight. |

I remember this race, the cars were so close on plate tracks then a little advantage made a huge difference. This car handled very well, if my memory serves. The 97 Pepsi 400 is another one, a shock change on John Andretti's car made the difference that day. |
