Saw this on the Stevens International site....:

MPC PLASTIC MODEL KITS MPC-939 1/25 1970 Pontiac GTO Super Stocker Race Car $32.95 TBA

Nice to see.

If only we could get AMT to re-release the service trailer again, or Revell/Monogram to re-release their version......

IMO, if AMT just issued their trailer as a stand alone kit, they might be surprised how well it might sell, as not everyone wants whatever pickup or van they add the trailer to...

Same for Revell,

For me, bought the Revell trailer with the Edmunds supermodified back in 1999. Traded the the trailer for 1 or 2 of the Edmunds supers sometime in late 2005...
Have now gotten my hands on 2 of the Edmunds super with trailer in the last year or so...

Bought 2 of the AMT '53 Ford P/U with the trailer a few years ago....

Here are a couple of oldies from the early 1960's
This one has has a scratch built rack

This one has the rear parts of the side panels cut down for the sprint car to fit., as does the painted one above.

Both of these trailers all that remain of 2 early AMt 1960's Ford P/U kits.

Model Roundup has announced the soon to be released Racer's Wedge kit with the Chevy P/U showing the box art of the original release back in 1971(?)

No mention of the Super Stocker releases yet.....

Is this Super Stock GTO a drag car? Or is this a modified or what? Only GTO I remember is the Chris Vallo purple car....mystery man sponsor of Gurney's eagles and the Pearson Driven GTO....

I’m excited to have these kits coming back. Even the 00s Model King reissues are prohibitively expensive, so I think it will be a good seller. Hopefully they release it with an inspired decal sheet! I believe the chassis is fairly accurate for early purpose-build late models (Howe?), so there are lots of great possibilities with this one!

Oh no. Good thing I have a 66 Buick Skylark original kit since the molds were ruined to make that theoretical short track stocker thing back in the day.....

It is ok on this GTO, because it is just a run of the mill kind of car, so maybe it will be ok. But the tools to the Buick are lost, maybe this Pontiac as well?

I believe the Pontiac was permanently altered for this kit.
The NASCAR GTOs mentioned earlier were '71/'72 models, with a different nose, so an MPC 'Pearson' GTO body is what you'd need.

I'd buy that. Not all that fussed about the GTO body, but everything else - chassis, interior, engine and exhaust system - should work nicely with a Chevelle - or more precisely, the very similar Pontiac Beaumont - body that I want to use to build a local late model hero's car from back in the day.

I seen to remember the 70 GTO Stock kit being brought back after this modified stocker kit was out the first time I just checked and I was right stock kit was definitely out after this kit it was kit #6281 out in 1987 orange car on the box.
