Great build OC. That's one I didn't do and wish I had of. Sweet piece.

That is great! Did you paint the fading paint or is that a decal? I am unfamiliar with this decal set.

That looks real cool....

Excellent build , John. Did you fade the paint or is that the chromillusion paint or whatever it was called back then? Another stunning build from your bench.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the nice comments. To answer your questions, yes it is paint, and no it's not faded. That's House of Kolors red/gold chameleon paint sprayed over a gloss black base. And yes Mark, it is a "chromillusion" type of paint, it changes colors depending on how the light strikes it. It was fun to do and the paints (both base and overcoat) were relatively easy to apply.

Excellent. I remember the Ford Probe was one of the first that had this as a production type paint...we had it in the design studio and called it "bruise" paint as it was a blue/purple turns to gold.....LOL.

I would like to try that paint even though it is out of style.

Fun fact

Hendrick used the same chromalusion color on that 5 car as on the infamous #24 that ran in the '98 Winston.

Great job on the build! You nailed it!

That's a great livery, and the musician I happen to be in my free time enjoyed seeing the Moog sticker on that car! I didn't know they sponsored car racing, are they still doing so or was it a one-off? I mean, I can't stay indifferent, my synthesizer and my model making kit would be the first things I'll be bringing if, next year, my plans can be realized, and I end up getting one of these cottages in Latvia as I get a job I can do from home.

... but let's come back to the main topic, you've done an awesome job, especially with the paint, the different shades of metallic gold and red are perfect matches.

No sir, I got them from Ronnie Setzer at Southern Motorsports Hobbies. I don't remember the producer, and I checked his website but got no results. Maybe he can help you directly if you were to contact him.
