In the 1960's the Allied Auto Racing Association of St. Louis, MO started a new class they called Limited Sportsman. At the time they ran Friday nights at the Belle-Clair Speedway at the St. Clair County Fairgrounds in Belleville, IL and Sunday nights at the St.Charles Speewday in St. Charles, MO.
The kit I used:

The prototype is Bob Tyson's car, pictured at Belle-Clair in 1970:

Very cool build!!!!
Reminds me of the cars I saw back in the 60's and early 70's at Weissglass Speedway in Staten Island, N.Y. _________________ Forum member since 10/25/2010

I attended some races and even raced my mini once at Belle-Clair in the mid-70s. I always thought those stocks looked super neat with the front ends off of them. Lots of external bracing too. You really captured that look with this model. Nice work! |

Great Build I love the pavement and dirt stock cars from 1955 to 1972 and this is a fine example..
I would like to make this offer to everyone if you have a short track stock car you want to do but no decals for it. Let me know we can work together to come up with a decal to do the car all of these will go to my website for sale and most I would like to build myself.. I am not saying I will do everyone it depends how many and what type of car you want.. But I will look at everyone and make a decision........let me know....oh your cost will be -0- free no charge...Now I am not going keep this offer open forever so know that up front..... |
