Another Monogram Regal. Tamiya TS23 and PS20, 2 sets of the Salvino kit decals, modified the headlight buckets, K&S tube exhaust, tinted the front and quarter windows, and took a window net from an 83 T-Bird.
Thanks for looking,

OUT-Standing work on that Iconic Car !!! The sail panel window glass was a nice touch, often overlooked by modelers. The rime look great too, with the drilled - out slots. |

Impeccable!
That grille: how did you get that effect? (I do not have the kit so am unfamiliar) _________________ Bill Jobson is my real name. |

This is a beautiful build! Not sure how I missed it before.
1.For the window tint - what did you use?
2.For that aluminum panel on the driver's side - what did you do there?
You really did justice to this car. Epic build. |

Wow, absolutely impeccable build with so much eye candy with the elaborate detailing. The tinted windows, inside door shield, hood pins, exhaust dumps, front grille and of course the perfect paint scheme.
You take the best pictures, large and crisp allowing a great view of all your great work. What is your setup for posting them like that?

jbherri2; The tint is Tamiya TS71 Smoke straight from the can. I've always had great results with this paint for tinting, the key to it is multiple thin, thin coats because it will easily run and puddle up.
On the doors it's aluminum foil duct tape. I leave the tape attached to the backing paper so it keeps it's shape when bent over the top of the door bars.
Pierre; I take all my photos with my phone, currently a Samsung Galaxy S10. The board is just a piece of prefinished oak flooring.
Thanks again everyone! _________________ Joe Oteri

Thank you for the tips. As others have said (and I'm saying again ) - this is a beautiful build; well photographed, etc. Makes me want to try my hand at this car - although I strongly doubt I can build it as well as you've shown here. |

I know this is an old thread but it is a beautiful build. I hope to build some Petty cars in the near future.
I am wondering why you use Tamiya PS20 instead of TS36, which I believe is the same color? It is my understanding that the PS20 is for clear slot cars.
Thanks! |
