I'm getting ready to decal over MCW paints. Do you need a gloss coat first or can you decal right on the paint.

How smooth is it? If it's a fairly smooth finish, you can and use decal set. I always use decal set personally.

I have used a lot of MCW paint and always gloss before i apply decals. I have had some issues (probably from me not shaking the rattle cans enough) with getting the paint to come out glossy.
