One of my favorite paint schemes but a bare to try to tape off. I ended up making my own decals for this car. Luckily a friend scanned the slixx sheet and i was able to make some modifications. The contingency decals were changed to mimic the Coca Cola 600 car.

The Ghost white looks good doubled up on the blue. Happy with the results so far.

Oh yeah. That new ghost white toner is a game changer for home decal makers. Excellent results you have there. Cant wait to get mine.

Hello folks. Sorry to post in an older thread, but does anyone know if Hitman51 is active on this forum? I sent him a PM regarding this car about a week ago but he hasn't read it yet.

Maybe someone else knows..? I was wondering what car or model kit he started with to build this? And, also is there a way I could get purchase a set of these decals?

Thanks!

I can answer your questions... the kit sure looks like a diecast (look at the spot where the top of the dash would be) but you could definitely use an 87-88 Monogram Tbird. He originally said that the decals are from Slixx.

Thanks for the info! I didn't realize what Slixx was. Looking on their page, I searched for "citgo" and found quite a few. I don't see one currently available for 1987 but I'll contact them to see what's available.

Thanks again!

Slixx is more drag racing now, not so much NASCAR like they used to be. You would be better off fishing around here or ebay.

Yep, I just heard back from them. They say that they aren't licensed to produce NASCAR decals anymore. Sad because those were a much better version than the JNJ versions. I'll check ebay and such.

Thanks!
