I am looking to build the Wendell Scott 1961 rookie car. Racing reference lists the car as a 1960 chevy. I have not been able to locate a photo of him driving a 1960 chevy. Does anyone have any photos of this car?

Google "Wendell Scott 1961 Chevy". The car was given to him by Ned Jarrett so many details might be picked out by googling that car as well.

I've seen a color shot of the car. It was red, white roof, and the body panels were in pretty rough condition. Not sure where I came across it...

Here is a slightly larger image of the above photo.

I saw that as well and just quietly chuckled. Amazing how times have changed.

Thanks for the help. All I had been able to find was the small thumbnails of the car. I had no idea of what color it was. I don’t think my modeling skills are up to being able to match the body on that car. Way to many warps and wrinkles.

He bought the 60 Chevy from Buck Baker. It had major chassis damage that had been bondoed over before he purchased the car from Buck. Its tells all about it in the book "Hard Driving" by Brian Donovan. Its a really good read if you haven't heard about it. A Forum member did this car a while back. I made some decals for it for him. His name escapes me at the moment but he is an excellent builder. Haven't seen him post here in a while unless maybe he changed his username.

Yes , I believe Wendell did those himself. Or maybe one of his sons. I don't know what sign painters charged back then but it probably wasn't cheap.

It looks like a joke, but apparently Snap-On sold Oscilloscopes under that name in the 1950's - 1960's. I never would have guessed:

I need to find out if this would have been a bench seat with the passenger side upper removed or a bucket seat. I haven't been able to find any photos to show one way or another.
