I am building an old 56 Ford bullring car to give to an oldtimer that raced back in the mid 1960's. The kit is old and for the life of me I could not get the front ride height correct without the engine cradle dragging the ground. In desperation I took a lighter and heated both frame rails at the firewall to give the nose a gentle nudge "up". It worked exactly as I hoped. How many times does that happen?

Yes that is an issue no matter how you built an AMT 56 Ford.
This is one I did awhile back. Used a Monogram Grand National
frame, which I think is based on a 1965 Ford. Would be period
correct for #25, which ran in 1968 and the rules allowed different
frame/body combinations.
I know at my home track 55/56/57 Chevy bodies were replaced with
64/65 Chevelle bodies, which fit with very little changes.
NASCAR had a similar rule allowing newer bodies on older frames.
An outdated 63 Ford could return in 1966 with a body change. The
Darel Waltrip #95 Mercury was actually the car Mario won the 67
Daytona 500 in. At least that's the way I heard it.

Anyway that's how I justified using the frame/body combination on
this one
LOL

But I've used the old "match" trick on many models, including the last one I posted.
