This may be out in left field, but 100% of questions you don’t ask will go unanswered, so here goes...
Interested in doing a 1972 Indy 500 winner model of Mark Donohue’s #66 Sunoco Penske McLaren. Got a set of Fred Cady decals from Mike’s (before i knew that Indycals made it) and the closest kit i could locate on ebay was an AMT kit of Rutherford’s 1974 car. It looks close... has the Offy engine and most of the body looks close, except for the engine cover area. There is an accurate wing available on Shapeways, which is an important detail.
Any opinions on how much work a conversion would entail? _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

Someone (Bill Jorgensen, maybe?) did a resin conversion back in the '90s. You might want to set up a search on eBay and watch it for a while. |

18degrees,
You may check with a couple of other modeling forums
that specialize in "open wheel" or "Indy cars" such as.....
Open Wheel Racing Modeling
http://mb2501.proboards.com/
or a smaller forum called...….Indy Car Modeling
http://indycarmodeling.proboards.com/
Heck, you may even see a familiar name or 2 or 3 there |
