Does tamiya make a green that is bright enough to work for the Mello Yello cars? If not, what would anyone recommend in a rattle can?

Any neon green will work.

Jim is correct. While neons have many colors across the pallet, there's pretty much one shade of each. Keep in mind you'll likely need a gloss coat. Check with Model Car World.

Was trying to avoid MCW just for the shipping cost factor.

If I remember, some guys on here have used Tamiya TS-35 Park Green for the Mello Yello and Interstate Batteries green, don't think it is neon but it is pretty bright.
Found this from taz

Did some interwebs searching and found a neon green lacquer that is made by Rust-Oleum that i can pick up at my local Advance Auto Parts for $12. May go that route.

Contacted MCW and he said that he has a few rattle cans that the previous owner had mixed up, for $12. If anyone needs some Mello Yello green, that may be a route. I went to my local Advance Auto Parts and they had one can of the aforementioned Rustoleum Neon Green lacquer in the store, $12 + tax out the door.

Case closed.
