Best wishes for Dale, Amy and Isla and the 2 pilots. Wish all a speedy recovery from any and all injuries. Crash looked very serious and the plane was a total. |

ABC National Radio News has picked up on the story. They also reported " No Serious Injuries. " |

It probably wasn't two months ago after reading an article on Dale that was mentioning his jet that I commented to my wife that a guy worth almost a half billion dollars shouldn't be flying around in a 23 year old plane. Sounds now like he needs to come on down to Savannah and visit that huge plant on Gulfstream Rd. and they'll fix him right up!
Am thankful everyone is OK.

Yep, this may very well be one of those "make you stop to smell the roses" moments.
Did anyone hear anything else about what happened? All the reports say it "bounced" twice, collapsing the starboard landing gear and very little else so far.

Junior's current aircraft (or, now, what's left of it) was a Cessna 680A Citation Latitude built in 2015. IIRC, JR Motorsports has a sponsorship agreement with Cessna's parent company, Textron. The old N8JR was a Lear 60 built in 1996.

Don't ever check the door plate when you board a commercial airliner. Some of them are quite old. That said, perhaps the oldest part on the plane is the door plate. _________________ Dennis
