My 1/72 Hasegawa Blue Angels from their first season with the Hornet
in 1987. This was done a few months ago and I was very happy with
the results, it's an old kit with kit decals. The wing tip, stab tip and fin
tip yellow was painted.---John

Very nice! I had the privilege of seeing them a few months ago. It was the first time I had seen them in about 20 years. It was a great experience. |

Very nicely done.
Have always been fond of the Blue Angles. Seen them perform in
F-4's, A-4's and F/A-18's. Several years back we drove 7 hours from NY to Virginia Beach, Va. to see the Blues at NAS Oceana while on the same day we could have driven 25 minutes to see the Thunderbirds perform at Stewart in Newburgh, NY.
After the show when the pilots came over to greet the crowd the CO asked us if we enjoyed their performance and I told him about our drive to Virginia when we could have seen the T-birds 25 minutes from home. He said that was the greatest compliment he has ever received. _________________ Forum member since 10/25/2010

Very nice BA F18. Always liked the Blue Angels, they put on a great show.
I remember as far back as the F11, I believe it was called. The Blue Angels used to be based at Litchfield Park NAS west of Phoenix and it was common to see them practice their shows. I guess they moved when the NAS closed.
Anyway, great build honoring some fine aviators! |

Henry great story. I started going to airshows the year Desert Storm ended.
I have seen both the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels, my preference is the Blues. Don't get me wrong the Thunderbirds are good I just like the Blues show better. They only let me down once, they didn't get in the air because of weather, that was Schenectady N.Y. in the 90s.---John _________________ I hear the voices and obey |
