That being on the pit crew for this Figure-8 and oval stocker at Ascot in SoCal for a year and a half, as I did not join the pit crew until midway through the 1976 season
These pics were taken before I joined the pit crew.
Not long after these pics were taken, the stock wheels were replaced with the factory "mag" wheels. The stock wheels kept cracking around the lug holes, so they tried the the other wheels and never had that issue again.
And yes, this is how the car was hauled to and from the track.
The owner/driver had a deal with his wife, he raced once a month, unless there was some kind of special race, which was not very often...
The owner/driver started building a new car for the 1978 season, when he threw his back out....that ended his racing career.... _________________ Ed. K |

Yes it was.....
Don't remember the exact year....but I believe it originally had the "clam shell" headlight covers.... _________________ Ed. K |
