Thanks to Tom M. for the motivation to build this one. I always liked Bud Moore's Mercury's and Ford's. Tiny Lund drove this one in the '68 season. Terry B's great resin "W" nose body, Polar Lights chassis, PPP tires and wheels and decals are Slixx number sheet M and quarter panel sheet C. All contingency decals are Powerslide. All decals were excellent and trouble free.

Notice that I put the shift pattern on the shifter knob, that was challenging and I lost 2 decals before finally getting one on. I do mean lost, they are tiny. Very cool but so tiny.

All Tamiya paint on the body, from the TS line. Inside is mostly Testor's acrylics.

Brings back memories.
Daytona 500 qualifying 1968. Only six or so cars made a pole run that
Day for some reason. Tiny was one of the first cars out on pit road. Was
Amazed car sounded just like the cars at the local dirt track, where I had
Seen Tiny run many times. Don’t know what I was expecting but it was
My first time seeing a grand national at Daytona. Red & black #16 Mercury
Looked so cool.
First car to make a run was James Hylton in his yellow 1966 Dodge Charger
Fast back.
But the most impressive car on that February afternoon was Richard Petty
And that black/blue #43 Ply Roadrunner.
