I finally got around to doing one of these with an old Johan body I had, I reworked the wheel openings and used the chassis and built a cage, lowered the stance, added some extra’s and used the Powerslide decal set which is always great! PPM tires and wheels, Thanks for looking…

DaveVan...

That leaves the question....if the JoHan Superbird mold is out there....
Wonder where it's hiding.....?

Have heard that one kit that cannot be done again is the OLD IMC Chaparall 2E Can-Am kit......as the mold either disappeared, or ended up being destroyed.....
Don't remember where I saw/heard that....

Just dawned on me.....Wonder about the Monogram Edmunds Supermodified kit that was last issued a few years ago through DTR (Dirtrack Racecars, Inc.)

If anyone is SERIOUS about any JoHan tooling I can get the info to them.......but it's real money up front and it all NEEDS repair.

Both the IMC Chaparall and Lola T-70 went to Japan and were never seen again.......who really knows if they are sitting in some tool shop in Japan????

The Edmunds kit may have been in the lot Atlantis bought.....but they ain't saying.....Again if someone has the cash I am sure Atlantis will talk to anyone about it.
thx

Didn't Union Model Co. of Japan reissue the old IMC kits like the Chaparral, Lola and various Ford GT's?

Yes....Union was the last one that ran the Lola and Chaparall models. I think Testors had the Ford GT molds last and may be in R2 hands now along with the Mustang II prototype.
Sorry to go so far O/T on the Superbird post!!!!! :!:

I actually have the #43 and #40 Superbird's on my bench right now the bodies both got the color coats yesterday and I am finishing the interiors, engines and chassis now hopefully by the middle of next week all paint will be dry and all sub-assemblies completed. Then final assembly and I hope they come out half as nice as yours has it is really NICE I can only hope. Yours is GREAT.
