Got lucky with a recent Salvino's Cale 1977 kit.
The chrome on both bumpers was starting to peel, I was able to put an X-Acto blade under it and pry all the chrome off both the front and rear bumper. ...

How many spacers are folks adding between the rear axle and the leaf springs? The number the instructions specify seems excessive (IMO) ...

Sometimes you can get it off with a toothpick but it might still cause damage to the paint that you would have to touch up.
