Have decals from 1989 (kit decals). I typically will spray them with a coat of clear before applying to prevent cracking. Any other tips or advice to prevent the milky white edges or yellowing?

I prefer the Tamiya line. For the Skoal blue and green...X3 Royal Blue or is that too dark? For the green, it appears that X28 Park Green appears a close match.
