Been told this is a Petty Winston West car. Anyone know the history on this one?

Have decals from 1989 (kit decals). I typically will spray them with a coat of clear before applying to prevent cracking. Any other tips or advice to prevent the milky white edges or yellowing?

There's a die-cast (obviously). Don't know about decals though, sorry.

It's a dark red. Is there a Tamiya color that hits it or am I gonna have to mix something up?

I prefer the Tamiya line. For the Skoal blue and green...X3 Royal Blue or is that too dark? For the green, it appears that X28 Park Green appears a close match.

I'm looking at pictures of Kyle Petty's Peak Antifreeze Grand Prix and the blue looks metallic. Am I just seeing things or is the front end a blue metallic?
